Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all! This little wall hanging helped to put me in the Christmas spirit. I even stuffed the ornaments so that they would be a little puffy and stick out from the tree. This is my first blog in about a year. As some of you know, I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma in March. With the help and support of family, great friends, and wonderful doctors at the Cancer Center Treatment of America in Zion, IL, I underwent 18 weeks of chemotherapy. Happy Anniversary to Saturday Sewing Days

On Saturday, January 10th, we  embarked on our fourth year of Saturday Sew Dates.  We were blessed with five new quilters who heard about us either from friends or other media.  I demonstrated the Studio 180 Design tool called, Corner Beam.  Quilters could apply their new knowledge by completing the pattern entitled North Star or they could design their own project.  I am anxious to see some tops either done or in progress on Saturday, February 14th, our next scheduled Saturday Sew Date. Becca’s Britches

This is my niece, Becca.  She loved these "firecracker jeans" as she called them.  She was very upset at the age of 6 when her mom had to break the news to her that she no longer fit in her favorite jeans.  Until Christmas Eve, Becca was convinced that some other little girl was enjoying her favorite pair of jeans.  Nope, I had them with my fabric stash! New Year, New Fabric

On Saturday, January 10, 2015 we will be learning how to use the Corner Beam tool from Studio 180 Design.  Participants are welcome to make a few blocks to learn the technique or make a quilt top entitled North Star.    I decided to move out of my comfort zone and select some different types of fabrics.  Why not, out with the old and in with the new.
